Working in the Republic of Liberia:
OBTAINING A LIBERIAN WORK PERMIT
You can work in the Republic of Liberia even if you are not a Liberian citizen, provided that you meet the set eligibility criteria. All foreigners who intend to work in the Republic of Liberia must have a valid WORK PERMIT before they start to work.
If you are a company engaging foreigners to work in Liberia, you must ensure that they hold a valid work permit. You need to submit the completed work permit application online form and all supporting documents to the Liberian Ministry of Labour.
Once the Ministry approves the application, the foreign national may begin working in Liberia. Find out if you can apply and how to apply to work in the Republic of Liberia as a temporary worker, business person or student.
How to apply
In order to apply for a Liberian Work Permit, the applicant needs a valid Liberian Residence Permit.
After this stage, please follow the next steps:

Go to the website www.workpermit-liberia.com. Enter all the requested basic data of the company or individual who is arranging the registration for the work permit applicant. Click »SEND EMAIL« to confirm. |
| Step 2 | You will receive a “Liberia Work Permit Batch number” with a link to continue the process via email. |
| Step 3 |
Click the link in your email and submit data for the first applicant by clicking “ADD APPLICATION”. On this portal, you can add several applicants from the same company. Enter all the requested data for the applicant, including: his/her passport number, residence permit number, job description, education level, job experience, attachments (scan of his/her passport, residence permit, business registration certificate and CV) and portrait photo (as for personal documents). You may save the form temporarily and return later but it will only be confirmed when you enter all requested fields. Pay attention to the additional information marked with »i« and remarks in red. These will appear if there is anything missing. You can now enter an additional applicant. When you are finished, click »FINISH BATCH« to finalise the registration(s) for the submitted application(s). |
| Step 4 | You will receive a confirmation via email which you can download. Your application is now in the process of verification at the Ministry of Labour. |

When the application is approved, you will be notified by email and an invoice will be sent to you. It must be paid within 48 hours. Scan the payment confirmation and return to the application link received in Step 2.

You will receive a confirmation via email which you can also download. Give the confirmation to the applicant, who must go in person to the Ministry of Labour, Tubman Boulevard, Monrovia (Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex) for the enrolment of the biometric data (during working hours: 9.00 – 16.00). |

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO THE PRE-ENROLMENT
If you have already been to the pre-enrolment, you still need to fill in this application form. Your data, entered in this form, will be compared to the pre-enrolment data. You will receive a message by email if anything is missing.
THE VALIDITY OF THE WORK PERMIT
The work permit is valid for 1 year. Make sure you extend its validity, if required, before the expiry date.
